What happens in episode 1
Girls’ night starts with a house rule: boys not allowed. The boyfriend is sent to the bedroom, and the girls keep the living room for the movie. The episode is quick and jumpy, with lines that come fast, and the premise keeps the tension on that rule from the first minute.
Ava dozes off on the couch about twenty minutes in. Camilla, the best friend who is also the boyfriend’s stepsister, comes looking for him and makes it clear she is not there to follow the house rules. He admits he has been drawn to her for a while, and the episode treats that as the real problem: his girlfriend is her best friend, and his stepsister is right there.
The episode ends with the two of them whispering and agreeing to keep quiet, with Ava still asleep on the couch.
Standout beatAva dozes off on the couch about twenty minutes into the movie, and the rule about boys starts to slip.
