What happens in episode 1
Josie opens with the break-up. Tyler’s dad has left her for a 24-year-old, and she asks Tyler to be honest about whether she looks old. Tyler reminds her that she is his stepmom, and she jokes about twelve years of yoga that her husband never noticed.
The talk turns playful and physical. There is a joke about being tied back up, and Tyler says it’s wrong, but the tension in the room is obvious. The episode makes a point of his hand shaking, and the joke stops being only a joke.
Then the talk goes practical. A Sunday conversation gets set up, and Josie asks him to stay the whole weekend, because she doesn’t want to sleep alone in that bed. The free part stops on that invitation.
