What happens in episode 1
Three weeks after a one-night stand in Miami, the boyfriend arrives for dinner at his girlfriend’s house. The woman who opens the door is the stranger from that night, and she is the girlfriend’s mother. She introduces herself politely, takes his flowers and says how sweet. Neither of them mentions Miami yet.
Upstairs, the girlfriend asks where her black dress is, and the answer comes back from the closet. He says he didn’t know, and she says she didn’t either. They agree it can never come out. Then one of them admits the night hasn’t left their mind.
The girlfriend tells her mom to be nice, and the scene tightens. The episode ends with a plan for the laundry room, two minutes, and the line that he’s staring again, just like in Miami.
