What happens in episode 1
Ethan’s dad marries Sadie’s mom, and the girl who called him a loser all through college becomes his stepsister. Sadie moves in, the two of them are told they share a bathroom, and the first exchanges are what you would expect: she jokes at his expense, and he keeps looking.
Most of the episode is the two of them testing each other. Sadie says he has changed, then tells him he has got hot. She is clear that the bathroom is hers too. Ethan admits he is staring like a total loser, and Sadie treats that as an opening.
The episode ends on her offer. Four years of making him miserable is something she could make up for, she says, if he admits he still thinks about her. The question is left hanging: what does he say?
