What happens in episode 1
The episode opens on the maid’s first day. The wife makes the introduction, tells her husband to be nice to the maid, and says she will be back at eight. Then she heads off to work and leaves the two of them in the house.
The maid settles into the routine, and the first exchanges are polite and a little formal. She checks how she is doing and asks the husband whether she is doing a good job. He reassures her, and the conversation stays careful, with both of them aware that the house is now shared in a different way.
