What happens in episode 1
The Open House starts with a couple who want their first home. The kitchen is huge, the windows let in plenty of light, and the realtor makes a point of offering to show the husband the bedrooms upstairs while his wife goes on with the measuring.
The tour is friendly at first, with a bit of banter about the couple. They have been married two years, and someone asks whether the honeymoon is over, which lands with a note of mischief. Then the episode comes back to a detail the series keeps returning to: a door that locks. The lock works, and the realtor says so twice.
The episode closes with an invitation. The realtor asks whether he wants to try out the bed, and the scene ends before he answers. It is a short setup, about a minute long, and it is built so you want to see whether the tour goes any further.
Standout beat“This is the room I only show the husband.”
