What happens in episode 1
Antonella rides in four days ahead of the wedding, and her first words make it clear she is not here to be a guest. She greets the prince as her step-cousin, the day before he marries Princess Maren. The bride is announced at the ceremony, and the moment is public.
The custom says the champion hands his ribbon to his bride. In this episode the subtitles have the ribbon go to his step-cousin instead, and she asks whether it counts as a declaration. Then she reminds him of a night the two of them spent together long ago, and she says she wants him again.
