What happens in episode 1
Your dad leaves for a work trip and hands the house to his wife, Ava. She is 22, and she makes the handover official before he is even out the door. The first rule is that your phone stays in the kitchen. The second is that you knock before you come into her room.
The third rule is the one she refuses to explain. She says you will find out later, and she says it in a way that makes you wonder whether you should. Most of the episode is her testing the rules with small requests, a few lines meant to unsettle you, and a clear sense that she enjoys holding the power.
